PMF is the movie file format used for animated previews.

From my research, it is a movie format my Plazmic for use on mobile devices.

How about actively locking duplicate threads and pointing people to already ongoing discussions? I agree, though... this is getting insane. I don't like too much locking. Some people have a good point to make and don't want it to get lost in another thread. I think IceBerg is right, give it a few m...

XMB is only the GUI.

It is speculated that the OS is NetBSD-based.
The PSP certainly contains some NetBSD code: http://www.scei.co.jp/psp-license/pspnet.txt

Re: This Web Brower stuff is awsome. would this be possible

Im sure this would be possible, but the question is how hard would it be.. since the people who have figured how to get online, could you somehow figure a way to copy the web browser onto a memory stick so the people who dont have wipeout can use the net too.. i dont think the question would be if ...

I imagine the update preview pic is reading from memory where the PNG decoder should have put the icon. Only the PNG decoder did not successfully decode. true. if you go to pictures and select one, then back to the dodgy update you'll have a part of the last picture/thumbnail(s) seen. Of course sin...

OK, I can confirm that the picture is not a mix from /PSP/PHOTO/ (let's face it, this seemed far too random) but it is actually being read directly from the PSP's memory. I imagine the update preview pic is reading from memory where the PNG decoder should have put the icon. Only the PNG decoder did ...

I wish I had Wipeout. This is a chance to test the PSP's / Wipeout browser, HTML renderer, and features such as Java.

The browser may be straight from their PDA range and therefore very secure though. Who knows... we might have expected the same of the picture viewer :)

Japan and Europe are both region 2 on DVDs. The thing is though, Japan is NTSC while Europe is PAL. This is an additional factor in determining whether a DVD will play or not. This is why Japan DVD's still do not necessarily play in Europe and vice-versa. I usually make sure all my stuff is 60mhz c...

Yes, the PSP not flashing is proof enough. DC power should not be an issue - you have a battery. Like you said. My PSP also waited a few secs before rebooting. Anyway, it will surprise no-one if a Playstation device has a problem :D I wonder if anyone has the same problem. You will just have to wait...

I vote this being the coolest psp bug/quirk found so far. ;) I think so! The PBP handler should be as self-contained as possible and for it to go randomly grabbing pictures off the memory stick is not good!! konfig, what firmware version does your PSP report in 'System Settings'? Someone else may know better but I would expect a bad/partial firmware update would likely not give you a useable PSP. Or at least throw up a CRC errors. Edit: That folder name (copy/paste from above) still does not crash my PS...

I let nothing inside the folder(even only one folder at the PSP\PHOTO\), formatted the ms(using psp), restored all system settings to default. The crash still happened. I believe PSPrez is really simple to use.

for example.

I think the mods are being a little generous as there is no real dev work going on with the PSP but they don't want this forum to turn into a general PSP Q&A.

Come to #psp on EFNet to ask any question you want!

No, there is no security of this kind.
