is the location random? or would it be the same place every time?

if it was fixed, and you could put enough nops in front of it, it would be possible to generate a batch of say 1000 possible locations..

i'm sure we could find enough volunteers to try them fairly quickly..

i'm really hoping the solution for 1.5 will not come down to modchips.. it'd really limit my desire to develope on the psp, because only a select few would be able to run my software.

if i was going to make a guess, i'd say it probably limits what the wipeout browser can access. anyway, no reason to install this, obviously.

my guess is that it uses that key to determine if the data from the data2.bin file is authentic, for drm purposes..

here is what it looks like to me. PPCD00001DLS001 is a public folder that all games can access. it's most likely created when you format the memstick in the psp. after formatting, the psp dumps the psp id into a .bin file, so games can access it easily.

from what i can tell, the wipeout proc only supports two options.. "command" and "upload". obviously, command is used to process the update packs. upload is not used yet, but from what i can tell, it will be used for uploading ghosts, stats, and profiles to the website. it builds...

from pspdirstructure..

COMMON_DIR = "PPCD00001DLS001";
PSP_ID_FILENAME = "data2.bin";

so that's where it gets the id, i would imagine..

i have the north american version of the psp and wipeout. i made a mirror of the wipeoutpurepsp.scej-online.jp site on my local web server, and directed the wipeout browser to it. the browser loads up the download page perfectly, but when it comes to the actual download, it doesn't get far. accordin...
