write a crappy VB.NET app for the "swaploit" How old are you mrbrown ? Why would that matter? TBH the app they included in the exploit was completely useless and the exploit could have been released on the 11th when they found out about it along with a pbp with only an icon and sfo in it ...

It's basically an XML file that sits in CVS with a bunch of metadata in it. I'm sure it will be released the same time pspSDK is which should be real soon now.

Hehe, the mods don't need any help in being aware of stuff trust me. Gorim, mrbrown or ooPo will shoot anything down pretty damn quick that doesn't mesh with ps2/pspDev's modus operandi.

Just browse the forums and learn/enlighten people.

pspDis Announced

I've had a few people say they wanted a disassembler for the PSP and since IDA seems to mess up so much with PSP stuff I decided to write a psp specific disasm. There are no binaries or source available yet (I still have to pick a license for the code) but you can view the details on the project web...

To be honest, if you need more than 222mhz to emulate an 8mhz, 8-bit machine you're doing something horribly wrong.

If you take the GP32, it can go up to 133 or 166 but it start at 66 mhz.
Smells like the bus speed to me.

Sony has publicly stated that there is a library function to set CPU Frequency as well as bus frequency divider. This function will only allow the CPU Frequency to be set from 1-222mhz at the present time even thought the hardware is capable of doing 1-333mhz. I assume that they did this for two rea...

Not yet, PSP homebrew is just starting and not all of the Sony libraries have been reversed yet. Your best bet is to wait and come back in a few weeks / a month or two.

In response to Gorim: that part is in fact a part of the SHA1 spec and is usally done in SHA1_Final. fastSHA1 as a whole looks really weird as it's all of the usual SHA1_* funcs mashed into one func and optimised for 62 char or less buffers. I found that out looking at integrating openSSL's assembly...

If you have a PSP that you can run code on you can write code to dump files from the UMD if you look at the APIs.

Most of the builtin PSP graphics APIs are very similar to openGL. Wait until they are fully reversed and use them, no need to port some heavyweight library or port dreamGL.

Actually all that the guy in that video did was replace the wipeout graphics, movie and sound inside of the update.pbp file. Even with the binary in there it won't work, encrypted or not. The program loader was vastly modified in fw1.5 and I can only assume that it was to put checks in to stop the k...
