Could it be possible to use the PSP as a navigation system?

Just like a Ipaq palm or something like that?

In theory ? Yes. All it takes is software and some GPS interface. Something a licensed developer could do...or once we can do our own homebrew.

of course it is serious.
If you actually look the the source then you will see the original information came from the uk.playstation.com website :P

Say what you will about Sony but they have not stooped to photoshopping their own images ;)

Speaking of attachments found on the UK Playstation site, how about this? It looks either like some kind of external battery pack, or an external HDD. From the row of LEDs on the bottom, I'm guessing a battery pack.

::EDIT:: Never mind, I found a page implying it is a battery pack. And that also mentions a USB camera.

there is no doubt that people are going to modify and add a bunch of spiffy devices to the ps2. hell people have already done so much with the Ninento DS. such as convertered it to a pda, cell phone, movie player. and more. so i'm sure in a few months you'll be seeing new inventions for the psp. and hopefully a few months after that there will be a homebrew dev kit for the psp as well.
