creating a SND0.AT3 file?

Post by Victor Von Doom »

okay for 2 days i've tried to create a SND0.AT3 file to repack into a EBOOT.PBP file to add background music to a launcher.

Since the file type is ATRAC3 i have installed the codec and tried repeatedly to work with SonicStage which will create files, but nothing in a .AT3 extension. It either creates 3 new dirs on the memorystick or transfering back to the pc a .OMA file.

I have tried converting wavs , mp3s, and simple renaming to no avail.

I found this post helpful http://forums.ps2dev.org/viewtopic.php? ... ight=atrac

but still not enough info. hope someone can give me a heads up on this or point me in the direction of a tool i dont know about?

1. Install ATRAC3 codec. http://pdc.me.uk/psp/atrac3.zip

2. Download and intall Sonic Foundry (now Sony) Sound Forge. I believe the demo is fully-functional for 30 days.

3. Open your WAV/MP3/etc in Sound Forge.

4. File->Save As...

5. Choose WAV then Custom.

6. Select ATRAC3.

7. Save onto PSP

8. Dance.

seems to be a file size limit though

1st tried a mp3 the SND0.AT3 file was 1.33 MB and didnt wrk

next tryed a small wav making a SND0.AT3 at 33kb

and it wrked

so far i have made one up to 412kb

if anyone knows the upper limit it would save some time :)
