keep your BMP resolution around 300x170 to prevent artifacts in the menu icons.

I had 2-3 cases where my PSP wouldnt respond to powering up. I would hit the power switch, but the green power light would just flick on for a brief second. My psp was pretty dead. Took the battery out, didnt fix it. Hooked up AC, didnt fix it. But I took the battery out and held the power switch fo...

PSP Background successfully replaced
With the help from Vampire, we ripped the BMP from one month on the firmware and replaced another. We replaced December's red background with a blue one and set the clock to 12/31/2005 11:55PM just in case it didnt work. The PSP boots up and expects red, so it fades to red after the intro, but then ...

Writing Flash File Replacement for PMF
Im making some custom PMFs for various things and was curious how touchy the PSP is if I wanted to replace the PMF intro video with one of my own. Would they have to be the exact same file size? What would be the best way to write to the flash? Etc... Im just asking incase there is something I misse...

Im just saying that alot of people are requesting these features, yet few understand how dangerous it is to do these things. I think it would be best for the more advanced individuals that post in these forums should take a stab at this simple util before people start making bricks out of their syst...

Replace bootup animation
We know the bootup animation on the PSP is a simple video file not unlike an animated GIF. Is it possible to replace the animation and the sound with custom versions without damaging the PSP?

One note on using this. Its been tested by me an tmbinc that you have to link to the html code almost directly. Going through a portal that has you enter the URL completely changes how the code reacts. In one case, tmbinc had it setup to kill the browser, thus disabling all the face buttons, but it ...

I think that is part of the problem. The 1.5* users are seeing great progress for the 1.0 users. In accuallity, this is great progress for 1.5 once it becomes open. But the problem isn't so much the idiots posting or begging, its the lack of good information from people working on 1.5. To date, we h...

Maybe this PSP could be of some use to the people studying the remote port since many believe that Sony uses this port to repair damaged flash.

I dont think most of you understand. YOU CANT MODIFY THE EBOOT.PBP. You need it so the PSP passes it through authorization. Then you swap your memory card with a modified EBOOT.PBP. Now, we would still need a way to convince the PSP that the memory card was never removed. While that may be difficult...

This would NOT work to downgrad a 1.5.1. You cant modify the data before the AUTH proccess. At best, you can trick a 1.5 into thinking your flashing to 1.5.1 but re-flash it with 1.5 again. This is not the complete solution at this point, but could be means to install custom firmware in the future. ...

Flash after Auth
http://www.psphacks.net/files/psp2.avi In this video you will see a US 1.5 get flashed with a JPN 1.5.1. You will notice the HASH check at the beginning of the video before the program starts. Once it starts flashing it simply dumps the firmware from the memory card. Wouldn't it be safe to say that...

"This tool takes an elf file compiled for psp and "converts" it into a PBP file. You can then copy this pbp file to a subdir in "PSP/GAME" on your memcard (eg to "PSP/GAME/APP1/EBOOT.PBP") This tool has been designed so that you could run it at the end of your make...
