I removed all usb devices and it passed the RPC errors.
Without any usb devices I got into the kernel message:
NFS: mount program didn't pass remote address!
And yes, I am passing ip address as per my previous post.
Any idea guys?

his is the main problem right now. When the usb is accessed heavily on the slim pstwo v14+ it hangs. I don't know if it is my distro or if it is kernelloader. Either way a solution to this would be very desirable if you could help troubleshoot it. It is not your distro...the original blackrhino als...

@bruno.bertechini: Linux kernel compiling issue (-mcpu=r5900): You don't have binutils installed. This package includes the assembler for PS2 Linux cross compiling. The installation is described in the README of kernelloader. I do have the binutils from ps2toolchain. I thought was enough. The toolc...

Just to let you know. Blackrhino is up and running in my SCPH-79001 v16 slim PSTwo. Network working as well. Installed into a 256M USB Memory Stick. Now I am going to uncompress and install deba5er custom distro. @deba5er Did you use blackrhino as base distro for your own? I was planning to use Debi...

EDIT: Link dectection is slower if you use a cross over cable for the connection to the switch. The use of a normal patch cable is faster, because the Link-X stuff don't need to switch the lines. I'm using a normal patch cable to connect the console to the switch. EDIT2: I had the experience that n...

Yes, my model is newer. I've got no problem using ps2link and ps2client (on Ubuntu). Here's a compiled version of ps2link: ps2link-1.52-bin.tar.gz Does your network link adapter turns on when ps2link boot? I mean, are you using crossover / switch? If you're using switch, are the leds coming green w...

FYI, I've got the model SCPH-90004 and network works fine. No problem with SMAP. Also, you won't be able to simply replace the module. Sony's smap.irx has other dependencies and (IIRC) doesn't provide the same functionality. We still have different models right? 79001 / 90004...It might be differen...

My slim has network enough to do ftp (and ps2link iirc). Not the same version as yours though. SCPH-77002_BIOS_VX_PAL_220. Thanks for the update whig, but the models are very different. Even both are PSTwo slim the 79XXX was completely redesigned (internally). The motherboard is different and small...

Network Driver ps2smap for Slim PTwo v16+ (SCPH-79001)
Hi, I was wondering if someone here is able to use ps2link withe the v16 version of the PSTwo console: SCPH-79001. I've booted with Sony's official Disc to setup internet connection for DNAS and it works just fine. I was worried if my network adapter might be damaged. I've successfully acquired IP A...

I've booted with Sony's official Disc to setup internet connection for DNAS and it works just fine. I was worried if my network adapter might be damaged. I've successfully acquired IP Address through DHCP using the official disc (the one shipped together with the console). So I am pretty sure the ne...

The README file shoud describe all necessary steps to build kernelloader. I do know that, but seems your README file needs a little reorder for the steps... At the beginning of instructions you mention: INSTALL: First you need to compile ps2smap and ps2link from ps2dev svn and copy the modules &quo...

Glad you got it to build. I went back and checked my kernelloader1.9 build and noted that directly from the build directory I have a zlib directory dated Feb. 2005. I can't remember, but I think I just downloaded the zlib and compiled in build/zlib to get kernelloader to compile. It is the 02-15-20...

You can adjust the the HSIZ and VSIZ, HPOS and VPOS on your TV if you feel comfortable with service modes. Otherwise you can use this version of X - http://phatbox.sixpak.org/ps2linux/ Example to set margins of 5 pixels: export TV_MARGIN_X=5 export TV_MARGIN_Y=5 vga parameters won't work for CRT NT...

@bruno.bertechini The PS2 scene sometimes moves slowly, sometimes quickly, so just because you don't see many posts here doesn't mean work isn't happening in the background ;-) It's good to hear you want to contribute. It sounds like you have plenty more experience than me. I can compile and modify...

@bruno.bertechini You must use this kernel: vmlinux_fat_and_slim_v2.gz AND kloader2.0.elf You must use the config.txt file from the install_slim directory on my usbinstaller (ps2linux_v0.7.zip). However, only the initrd (ramdisk boot) works right now with my distro on v15+ (yours is v16 I think). D...
