I assume you mean the firmware, and you cannot access the firmware on a 2.00 PSP at this time because we can't run any programs on the 2.00 firmware. Not to mention there is very little you could do if it was possible, since the majority of the firmware is encrypted anyway.

Besides the fact that porting a VM to PSP would be a ***** to do, there is no real good reason to do so. The current method of running programs on the PSP is faster than Java could ever hope to be, and sports a helluva lot more features.

Would it be possible to have it play WMA files... Maybe, but only non-protected WMAs. It'd be a pain though, WMAs suck. Just switch your music format to something good, like OGG. As for media streaming, I could see MP3 streaming (like SHOUTCast) working, but video streaming I don't see happening. T...

Warren, I don't know of the difficulty this would be, but have you looked into using FFDShow for all the AVI codecs? It's damn fast, open source, and supports a whole helluva lot of AVI codecs. At least you could implement the libavacodec decoder, which supports the major players in the codec area (...

Using telnet at the moment, would it be possible to have a "computer monitoring" setup? Like, lets say I set up a cron job to telnet the PSP new data every minute. Would that work? Hmm, after reading again, it looks like it might not. Would it be possible to set up the PSP to receive info...
