Audience partici-p-p-pation - PSP users @ Squidly1's talks
For those attending my talks at DefCon, who want to participate, you might want to go ahead and modify your PSP firmwares. You will need to be running at least firmware 1.50 *OR* one of Dark_Alex's custom firmwares. I highly suggest installing 3.40OE-A... If you have a PSP with Sony's official 3.50 ...

Pics?
Art: That's a pretty cool app. Do you have any screen shots? I'm assuming that it's not communicating with any exotic protocols or anything, in order for the PSP to grab the updates it needs (user prompted updates, timed or streaming)? It's logging in or grabbing from a host of open resources?? Just...

Example focus item for the talk
Cool, but outside of copying DVDs what else are you guys coding or seeing that makes these machines unique - from a threat or usage analysis? Or more useful than my DS in real world-type applications? Example: A couple of weeks ago I bought the GPS unit for one of my PSPs and have since downloaded D...

Thinking Outside The Console (Box) - PSP
I'm looking to add a little more to the talk I will be doing at DefCon 15, and will add your name (or alias) to the references slide - if you can anything I have not already covered. I am interested in all game consoles, but have a focus (at the moment) on: PS2, PS3, PSP, DS, Xbox, Xbox360, GameCube...

PSPBochs multiple VM fix
I created a work around for loading multiple virtual machines on one memory stick, for PSPBochs. Details and download are available from my site: http://www.schleppingsquid.net/PSPHacking/ I also notified Matan, the original coder of the mod. Hope to releases the code soon so a more elegant way of w...

Garrr... Think I gaffed up a little bit of the 2CH code with my last edit. Have to revert to one of the step backups I made as I was editing. Went through about 5 or 6 mini revisions when I was cooking up the translated browser. I get an error now that pops up for 2.5 picoseconds and then I get dump...

Inching closer to true browser for English-readers
No problemo. I still wish I knew how to open up that DATA.PSP file... (sigh) I found out where the CGI came from - on Zone-H. Seems there is an arbitrary code execution vulnerability with a certain version, and it pointed me to the website that created the CGI. It's part of a popular (mostly on Japa...

Interesting...
I hex'd around a little more and got the browser to error but not crash. I forwarded it (semi) successfully to Yahoo, and then to a portion of my website. The CGI I guessed that the browser uses to parse the website links is partly to blame for the messed up deplay of info. Sooo d@mn close.... - Squ...

Translation done (kinda)
Alrighty. I have translated everything I could. Some items are encoded and I can't seem to get to them with a hex editor. One seems to be a link to a "command" menu that (right now) seems to do little more than open up a development blog. Was kinda hoping one of those options listed would ...

Slight progress on 2CH_Browser
It seems with the newer release of 2CH_Browser, it seems to be a bit more forgiving of Hex editors. I'm almost done with a translated browser for all to play with. The Google hop point will come later. Should have a 1.50-friendly translated 2CH_Browser in an hour or so... Link to appear here when I ...

Is this dirtbag profiting from your programming?
I found this guy on eBay selling PSP freeware. See his last sale: http://cgi.ebay.com/PSP-Tic-Tac-Toe-Snake-Tetris-games-for-PSP-download_W0QQitemZ8210377643QQcategoryZ62053QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem His storefront (PSP section): http://stores.ebay.com/MarzE-tronic...1QQftidZ2QQtZkm I warned the dealer an...

2CH_Browser (kinda) translated...
I was just wondering what type of black magic I had to perform in order to unpack or decompress the DATA.PSP file found in the EBOOT.PBP file. I'be been trying to hack around the 2CH_Browser file in order to create a light weight web browser for older firmware PSPs. I'd really prefer to hack around ...
