Jonny, would you be willing to upload the build with hq mp3 enabled again to mega upload? it's no longer available... I'd like to see if it solves my audio problem. Thanks for creating the best video tools ever! I took some time to make intensive performance tests with avcmod and finally I came to ...

I think Mediacoder stumbled on the 3-pass setting. Try using singlepass, constant quality: crf 20 (or in Mediacoder, quality slider to 67 or above) and below is roughly equivalent to 768+ kbps, depending on the source. I found crf to be the best of the singlepass methods. What's the problem with th...

the purpose of the code i've posted is to identify the cause of random crashes (by crash i mean the psp freeze and the app no more respond) every comment (about the code i've posted) not focusing on the resolution of this problem is really superfluous (having smooth playback is not the purpose and ...

Hi all - Here's a test.264 encode from my latest tests Blade Trinity Trailer 264 - quant - 14.2mb Download Quality overall is quite good - however heavy blocking on section that have no detail. This also pauses while it reads from the memorystick. File was encoder using the quantisizer setting in ma...

Thanks for info Jonny - I managed to get my head around pspdev/cyywin/psptoolchain and compile it. I much prefer encoding more!............LOL Jonny - I seem to be having success with mainconcept h264AVC encoder rather than the elecard encoder (although they look and perform identically in the graph...

@xxxstarmanxxx: you should use the sink filter to produce a raw stream, avcdecme.rar posted some messages above will play it. @magiK: you've done an amazing work, i'm really really impressed, i start thinking you have a sort of magic cap hidden somewhere :) Sorry for sounding absolutely dumb guys.....

xxxstarmanxxx: Take a look at this image (the scaler is resizing to 480x272). A stream using those settings is decoded by the PSP at around 180 frames per second. Hi m8 I've taken your setting - Thanks so much for these - and have muxed the resulting stream into an mpeg2 container (ps) using elecar...

Hi magiK - I'm getting very interested in where this is going over the last couple of days. I just spent a couple of hours trying some graphs on a source file - but i'm not getting anywhere at the mo. Have you successfully managed to reproduce a stream using graphedit? If so - could you post your gr...

Thanks for the replys, I understand the limitations that I will be giving up going from PMP back to MP4. In most cases, the PMP videos have been cropped left and right to create the full screen. When you encode to PMP and keep the aspect ratio you have lost the full screen resolution due to the bla...

In my case, it is something different. Let's say I have encoded a PMP with xvid video and mp3 audio. And then I want to substitute this mp3 audio by mp3 vbr for exemple; then with a demuxer, i can reuse the video track, encode my mp3 vbr separtely, and remux with PMP Muxer. This is why a PSP Demuxe...

Finished my tests regarding VBR MP3 @ 128kbs. Sound quality is now very good using V2.00 - Yes the high pitch background noise is still there - although its much more faint using VBR audio. @ 128kbs VBR (which equates to 160kbs CBR IMHO) the player handles decoding effortlessly and the audio quality...

Starman, if this would be an XVid CPU issue, why can I hear it in DivX vids too ? And if it is like you say, shouldn´t it just affect XVid and not any other codec, no matter what bitrate ? I´ve just made a sample and send the link to Jonny. I want to know where the problem is, even if I am the prob...

@starman It seems we talk of different things. I feel I must add a post to stop the inaccuracy's regarding background noise and small pops. 1st - This only occurs when encoding with Xvid as it puts more strain on the PSP's CPU. If you do the same 2 pass encode using the same bitrate with Divx or 3ivx - the problem is resolved - At a cost of vide...

I can also confirm the ticking/popping on my own 900kpbs xvid encodes, I'm going to test the earlier mods to determine whether it's only related to M3. (edit - I was previously running 1100kbps divx files with no problem, so this may be an xvid-only issue.) malloc, great work on the mods! I think t...

Excellent work Jonny - you can really notice the speed increase! I have managed to get the Blade.Trinity.Trailer to encode with XviD and B=frames active and it only breaks up with a slow down once in a scene where Blade crashes and shatters a floor. I'll be looking forward to any further speed incre...

@xxxstarmanxxx Personally, after your recommendation and after doing a few comparisons of my own, I'm going to stick with 3ivX to encode from now on. While Xvid appears to give better, sharper images when the picture is paused, it seems to show more ghosting than with 3ivX with moving images. This ...

I rank them as follows: 1st 3vix 2nd xvid and 3rd divx - file sizes between these 3 encodes are only around 1...
