I don't know, but it seems that the poweroff.irx module (or any other related module) is broken on the latest toolchain. It's not possible to turn the console off by pressing the power button inside PGEN 1.5, which makes HDD save states not to be flushed. I did a couple of tests here with older hdd ...

Modchips and DEV2: What's the secret?
Hi guys! I've sent the following email months ago to Matrix Infinity support, they said I would get an answer as soon as possible, but I never did. My tests pointed that the same happens with with DMS modchips. I am clueless, that's why I am posting the email here! I hope someone here can figure out...

I quit trying to format the HDD... Will this code work???
Hi everybody! I am kinda quitting trying to format the HDD by myself by using libhdd: http://forums.ps2dev.org/viewtopic.php?t=5457 Now I just got an (ugly) idea, which consists of embedding DMS HDD Format Tool inside my application. Now I don't know if the following code will execute DMS HDD Format...

I just made the test... No success! :-( According to libhdd's documentation: void hddPreparePoweroff(); Installs the default power-off handler. The default poweroff hander will close all PFS files then power off the PS2 when the reset button is pressed. For this operation it is required that powerof...

Guys, How can I call the hddFormat function (int hddFormat(iop_file_t *f, ...)) which is inside the /ps2sdk/iop/hdd/apa/src/hdd_fio.c file? I know this file will be merged inside the ps2hdd.irx library, so how can I call it? I think the problem is with the hddFormat function (int hddFormat()) which ...

Guys, I really don't know what is happening. It just doesn't work. DMS HDD Format Tool works. But my code doesn't. I don't want to use DMS HDD Format Tool. I want to format the HDD by myself. Does anybody here has a working example about how to properly format the PS2 HDD?
Thanks in advance!

I just can't format the HDD using libhdd... Why???
Hi folks! I am writing a simple application to format the PS2 HDD. Everything goes fine: it's detected, it's formatted (i can see the internal HDD orange led flashing while it's being formatted). At the end of the proccess, I just poweroff the PS2. But if I run the application again, it recognizes m...
