thanks for that, that made more sense, didnt help but definetaly got me thinking, i actually looked in my bin folder and i have no psp-gcc file there i dont suppose there is a way i can download just this? or someone can email me the file or provide a link?

i have placed the paths in the enviroment variables, but there is both user variables and system variables and i have added them to the user ones, when it asks you to enter them i have added them as CYGWIN for variable name then the paths separated by ; as the paths is that correct?

im getting the below error when im trying to compile my app, i have had cygwin going before but now it wont work

thank you but no this wont work most vnc solutions i know dont update the screen fast enough to actually allow playabiltiy and im thinking of putting together a specialized client that will only transmit the psp resolution therefore not having to send the entire windows user space and allowing more ...

Hi,

Im looking for the best way to program 3d apps on the psp, i have experience with opengl and thats why im interested in how complete and close pspgl is to that of opengl or is there something better and easier to do 3d on the psp??

just use the dialog utility of psputility to output text and let psp handle the fonts oh excellent i didnt realise there was such a function ill have to give it ago, but i would still like to learn how to write text and graphics directly to the screen as i want to have a pop up box overlay and such...

i think the main thing that is holding alot more developers back from producing more plugins and prxs is the fact that there is not much documentation or anything really to do with displaying reliable and usable text and graphics onto the xmb. the topic was going a bit stale that was all, but i know its no too hard i have seen many plugings that do it, i just can't find the source code for any and the sdk i got from devhook uses a background colour for its text which i need to be transparent thanks guys if you can clear this up for us

hi guys has anyone here used the blit_string functions from the devhook sdk to put text onto the vsh, i can get it to work, im just wondering if there is a way to have the background color the txt sits on to be transparent??

I cant seem to get any text what so ever to print with a prx over the xmb can anyone tell me what functions i need to just print hello world cheers

another question though is it possible for the font that the xmb uses for menus and the like to print text from a prx to the screen

a homebrew that could stream this over usb would rock the scene totally i believe, i think if you can tyranid release a stable version it would be pretty significant

I don't think there is a way to come back from standby through code (and definitely not from full powered down state), I think it works the same way hibernation does on a PC, so all memory is saved but there is no code being executed so no way to run code to resume.
