Updating forum... ?

Well: http://www.phpbb.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=240636

It seems there are some vulnerability fix in there. Maybe it should be a good idea to update...

It'd be a good idea to installed that "Easymod" thing so that you can add mods like the attachment mod, and quick reply (Which is a reply box at the bottom of every thread - very handy).

I think the ps2dev forums would be better without either of those mods.

Look at me, using the pre-existing 'reply with quote' button located on each message!

Well, to be specific about the attachment mod, I've said it numerous times before...
I have yet to see a message board with attachments that did not have the attachment ability abused on a routine basis.
It also tends to attract people to just dump the files on the message board, which at first may seem like a good idea, but a few days down the line suddenly if you ever want to get that file again. We end up with a horribly ugly system that is far less organized and far more difficult to find things than the often critized front page we have now.

On about the same note, I've often thought it would be a great idea to setup some sort of large email account or some other type of drop box that all the ps2dev admins or "elders" (basically, the people who have been here long enough and contributed enough that they have access to modify the site) have access to and can sort through and post any submissions from people who don't have that access. As the site becomes larger and larger I think some sort of submission system like this would become more and more important.
