Do you think it's time to have an organized "hardware discussion board"?
A place where we can read about HW mods?

OK guys, maybe I'm wrong (in that case, please, tell me that) but few days ago someone release a mod that connect a GPS receiver to the PSP, non later than a month ago, someone explain how to create a home-made headset (mic + headphones).
Do you imagine how many applications are possible?
Don't read and forget, tell me something ...

What is a "mod"?

Yes, this was the reason why I added the SIO (serial input/output) support to Lua Player :-)

I've demonstrated the connection between HyperTerminal on my laptop and the PSP at the Maker Faire at the EuroOSCON after the talk Nevyn and I gave at the conference. My air-wired setup had problems with the stability of the communication, but looks like it was not a general problem, because the GPS mouse works and my first setup works, too. Looks like I have to create a professional pcb.

It's a modify, something that made one thing different from the original intent of the producer. It expands the capabilities of your gadget.
What I mean is that the "harware side" of the PSP is still a mistery and only fews know its secrets. I would like to have a place where people can exchange their knowledge about the hardware of the PSP (simply what they will give, at least references).
I think that a community with few "big heads" or nerds and a lot of player make not sense if we will use the PSP not only as game console. (Stimmt oder nicht?)
Anyway... thanks for your job!

Last thing ... may I PM you for few noobish LUA questions??? Thanks.

I would like to second this motion. It would be very useful to have a discussion group focused toward understanding the PSP hardware. There are many possibilities for add-on devices and/or hardware modifications with this platform. More importantly, we need a place to discuss the hardware just for the sake of understanding how it works and what it is capable of.
