Im new..I have some questions?

Post by eaglesfan007 »

Ok im new so bear with me please I have a few questions about deving.I have an unmodified console with out a hdd.

1)Is there a program i can download to use like x-port since i dont have
x-port, n-port or max that allows me to use my usb cable to mod my ps2?

2)Once you do get going on modding your ps2 is it possible to change the dashboard or create your own backround for the dashboard

3)Is there a way to do ps2 dev on your comp without a ps2 by using ps2 bios?

1) yes, nport requires the network adaptor, a ps2 server (ps2link) and a pc client or naplink and a usb link cable (with a special chip) and a pc client; for max you can use the usb mass driver included or maybe your own (not all works)
2) actually there isn't nothing like xbox dashboard for ps2, but similar programs, you can load them from various device. if you have the source yes.
3) yes use pcsx2 but it don't work very well, for example i had function ignoring comands in pcsx2 but perfectly working on a real ps2

1. There is nothing you can download that will 'mod' your PS2. If you don't have some way to get code running on the PS2 nothing you can download off the net will do you any good.

2. No.

3. Not really. There is the pcsx2 emulator but (no offence to the people working on pcsx2) last I checked it's not even remotely close enough to being complete to be even a half way decent way of testing PS2 code.
