Starting Today...Please

Post by cpptech »

Hi Everybody!!!

I'm just starting on ps2 development, i'm trying something that must be ridiculous to you, veteran. Even so, i have to ask, 'cause i didn't find anything 'bout it ...

At the site http://ps2dev.org there are a few games, like space invaders, compiled and with their source open to be taken...

But i can't even start, once i am trying to burn a DVD-RW media with Nero 6.0 with the game files (SYSTEM.CNF, Space.elf, amigamod.irx and tesmod.mod). The content of my SYSTEM.CNF file follows:

BOOT2 = cdrom0:\SPACE.ELF;1
VER = 1.05
VMODE = NTSC

But ps2 asks me to put a valid Playstation or Playstation2 disc.

what could I be doing wrong? Does anybody have a tutorial or something like?

PS; I know there is no problem with my DVD-RW media, once I can copy my game - ATV RoadFury 2 on it.

Thanks in Advance

ok, but...

is it impossible, then?

'cause once the intention is to create a game and put it on a DVD media, ps2link won't help that much...

but thanks even so

It IS possible. Just don't focus on that right now...

Then, buy one. That, or the pl2301 usb-usb network cable. I can't really think of developping without using any network enabled device.
