Bleh, see, here's what happens - pixel and Gorim post so much (and talk so long), that I get their posts mixed up.

Gorim, disregard the first few sentences of my post, I see what you were saying about GCC. The rest of that paragraph and the second paragraph in my post are still relevant - the R5900 patches just don't split R5900-specific support out cleanly, that's why those flags don't just work.

Well, I do have to say this thread has been most enlightening. :)

I think everyone learned a little about one thing or another.

As I remember it, changing the IOP ELF into an IRX used to be done by a seperate program after compiling and linking. By popular request, that was moved into the linker to make the IRX directly.

Its not that bad really...the channel has lots of helpful people that are extremely patient, albeit in a somewhat blunt manner. But having intestinal fortitude sometimes helps.
