Listing Directory Contents from CD

Noticed quite a few posts on this via search, but no solution..(and here comes another post on it!)
Im using ps2sdk, trying to make a directory list of the files on the cd (i can read them individually, so i know thats fine), but ive tried fileXioD, fioD, and even fileXioGetdir, and im outta ideas, nothing will work at all!
Anyone got any ideas? (and ive tried both cdfs and cdrom0, as im using the cdfs, which works great)
