Not being a member, I won't check it out.

I do wonder what benefit adding a second dvdrom to a ps2 would provide, however.

Er, this was done quite awhile ago by a ps2linux user. Check the forums on playstation2-linux.com.

Yeah, just set the "Boot Drive" jumper on the motherboard to "External", and let the good times roll.

Dude, be careful. If he starts looking for other jumpers he may find the one that lets him boot games from the harddrive. We don't want to encourage such horrible, horrible actions!

seriously i have a scph-50001 that boots ps1 games and ps2 cdroms put with dvd ps2 games and movies i get the good ole "disk read error".
iv mesed the wite gear cleaned the lens bla bla bla.

iv had only two ps2s apart but i have never seen any jumper in a ps2

It's posible this . I test this with a recompiled kernel with IDE ATAPI
support and works perfecly. But in native mode is another history, not?
It's poseble to use a 2nd DVD like a HDDLOADER.
