execftp problems

Everytime I use execftp on my ps2 my ftp client says it can't connect. It says connection refused. My ftp client is FlashFXP. I've looked everywhere on tutorials on how to setup execftp and how to connect but it never works. I've went about 10 sites on tutorials and the all say the same instructions. First find your router ip then your netmask then your gateway ip. I found them all typed them in the config file and it still doesn't work.
Could someone please help me.

more information is necessary...
are you using a crossover cable or a router?
what is your computers ip address(start->run->cmd "ipconfig /all")
what is your computers gatway(start->run->cmd "ipconfig /all")
what is your computers netmask(again same place)
did you make sure that your ps2's ipconfig file was loaded(it should tell you on the screen)
did you make sure that your ipconfig file was correct?(the netmask and gateway should be the same, and the last number in the ip should be different)

I am using a router. My ip address is 192.168.1.106. My computers gateway is 192.168.1.1. My computers netmask is 255.255.255.0.
Yes it did say the information on the screen and said it was initialized on port 21.
I didn't really get what you meant by gateway and netmask being the same. I got all the instructions from this link:
http://www.sksapps.com/index.php?page=E ... orial.html
If you could tell me what to type in the config.dat file to make it work that would be great.

what i meant was that your computers gateway should match you ps2 gateway and same for the netmask.
your file should be
192.168.1.50 255.255.255.0 192.168.1.1
where 50 should be a number less then 100(i assume you use a linksys router...)
that should solve that problem, i think.(also exploitstation.com has good tutorials on this stuff too)

Thanks ubergeek42. I can finally connect through my computer to my ps2. And yes I do use a linksys router. I can't thank you enough.
