ive been downloading and using elf files other people have made for the ps2 and theire fien an all, but some programs have functions i would like in others to make it all that much better, so i decded that i would try and get into dev'ing for my ps2 so i can make something with the fuctions i want and have the satisfaction of knowing i done it :p. I can load elf's easily so thats no problem, BUT ive been looking on the forum and i dont know how to get started with the programing side of it, i have some programming knowledge just not with the ps2, ive been looking around and ive got a ps2 toolchain, but what else do i need? ive heared of cygwin or something but dont know of where to get it, so if someone could give me a list of everythign i will need btw im programming in windows as ive only just started using Linux (Back Track) and arent veary good at it
Thanks in advance

well it would be alot easier if you installed the toolchain in linux as cygwin has alot of problems, but you could at least google cygwin to get it if your incapable of that then i dont know how you will be able to dev... Anyway, install the toolchain and make sure you have ps2link on your ps2 so you can boot elfs! You need quite a good knowledge of C and you can use the provided samples in the sdk to get you started.

Look here, a version of cygwin that runs with ps2 toolchain

looking for in
http://www.fruitbat.org/Cygwin/ and
ftp://www.fruitbat.org/pub/cygwin/circa/index.html
to find cygwin from Sat Jul 2 20:30:04 EDT 2005
