Hi! Everyone. I really want to start coding on ps2. And comparing a few loaders available now. I personally perfer the Naplink, cause I've a ps2 with modchip, but no net adaper. Now the only thing confuse me is the so called "Prolific PL-2301 or PL-2302 cable". Is that the usb cable that we can get from pc market to connect two PCs,like this

(You need a cable with a PL2301 chipset, most cables don't say what chipset they use, PL2301 is far from the "standard" chipset used these days)

Hope this helps

Thanks a lot. Maybe I'd better change to the PS2 Link. But should I buy a new slim ps2?(I mean is it work? if I just add the network adapter into my old big ps2) And also, is the mod-chip must Messiah? Because Now I am not sure which kind of my mod-chip is.
Thanks again!

If you buy a new PS2 it should work with PS2Link as well.
But there is no forcing reason to do it. The old one will suffice.

PS2Link works fine through network adaptor of a 'big' PS2.
This is what I use myself.

Messiah is a rather old mod-chip (I consider it obsolete), which I advice against using if you have any choice in the matter. It's a much better idea to go for something with better features, such as Dev1 boot support (to boot ELF files directly from memory card).

PS2Link is not directly dependent on any mod-chip at all, although having some mod-chip does simplify most homebrew work.
