pspkobo

Post by ReKleSS »

Hi all,
I've finished with my first release of an xkobo port to PSP. Right now it's more of a hackjob than a port - I basically commented out all the x11 stuff and replaced it with a modified version of my raster lib (with support for images, basically). Due to some weirdness with the way X11 was used, the game doesn't use the backbuffer properly. As a result, there's some tearing. I'll clean it up and make another release sometime soon.

For those not familiar with kobo, take a look at xkobo or kobodeluxe. The idea is to fly your ship around and try to destroy the bases by taking out the cores in the centre. Use the D-pad to fly around and square to fire.

If you want to build from source, you'll need the pspsdk. I used a subversion version, but 1.0beta may work, I'm not sure. If you want to edit the source... I can't really stop you, but I really recommend you stay away from it. It's a complete horrible ugly mess that will make your brain hurt.

New release. The main game screen now takes up the full height of the psp (271 pixels instead of 226), doublesize radar, and analog control. Also, I've made a rather poor attempt at an icon... anyone want to provide me with something better? It was uploaded over the old file, so use the same link.

Oops.... erm, that's not my CHANGES file. That came with xkobo. I forgot to remove it before creating the archive. The only changes are the ones I mentioned in my post here.
