Blue-Screen crashes with scummvm-psp-beta4

Post by macmoll »

Hi,

I'm trying to use scummvm-psp-beta4 on a PSP 1.0 to play the _german_ version of "The Dig".

But I get a lot of blue-screen crashes so often that I cannot complete the game. For example, currently moving directing Commander Low to some location for examining items right at the beginning of the game creates this blue-screen:

Excpetion: Bus error (data)
EPC - 08B44BBC
Cause - 0000001C
Status - 20108603
BadVAddr - 00000000

Anything I can try to omit this crashes?

Also - I'm not sure if related - but I have some sound issues playing some sentences in a very "noisy" way (?)

Thanks for any ideas and pointers to this issue. Is there a way to fix this?

We've just released a new version that hopefully fixes this bug (although I wasn't aware of issues with The Dig), note that bugreports should be done on the ScummVM bugtracker, and not on any forum as they can easily be missed.

As I'm too lazy to look for the old thread on this forum, I'll just post the link to the new version here.

Please let me know if it's fixed.

Thanks for the reply. In fact, now the game runs some more dialog sessions further than with previous beta4, but is then crashes again with blue-screen:

Execption: Bus error (data)
EPC: 08B9987C
Cause: 1C
Status: 20008603
BadVAddr 0000000

So, I will file a bug-report at the ScummVM SourceForge page. Is this the right location you was referring to?

Thanks,
Macmoll

PS: Trying to file a bug report, I need a SourceForge account? Is this correct?

Yes that's the location and, yes, you need a SF.net account.

Please provide a savegame and detailed information on how to reproduce, mention you're using the PSP version, etc, etc.

Thanks.

Ok, I'll provide a savegame to SF soon...

Thanks.
