How did the PSP SDK come to light?

This is something that has intrigued me. The history of the PSP SDK. How did it come to light? Is this something that can be discussed? Thanks

A few ppl worked in collaboration together and compiled EBOOT.PBP for the first time using PS2Toolchain. That should be all...
