NEW PSP SLIM CUSTOM FIRMWARE

Post by sephiroth1738 »

We are the middle of developing a CFW (Custom Firmware) for the newely released PSP SLIM (PSP-2000) model. The firmware will use OFW (Official Firmware) update 3.71 and a unauthorized FW 1.50 since the PSP Slim cannot use the official 1.50 due to compatibility issues. To install the firmware you will NOT need a pandora's battery. Me, head leader, and my development team are going to use the same methods as of those DarkxAlex used for CFW OE-A's. The firmware we are developing will not be able to play all OFW 1.50 homebrews, but it will play most. The new CFW will be code named "TAF" short for The Armada Firmware, and when being displayed in the System Settings menu on the PSP Slim it will say "3.71_TAF". Since the firmware is still in development no pictures are up but soon will be and I will post pictures with in 1 or 2 days from now. Now to more features of "TAF". It will have a recovery menu similar to the one of DarkxAlex. For now we have not found a way to access the Flash0 folder due to current development road blocks, but these bugs are being fixed. You will be able to add in your own custom boot screens, custom UMD boots, and custom XMB's with custom menu SFX. Since the internal memory of the new PSP Slim was expanded we were able to leave all additional Languages. You will be able to overclock or underclock the processor to the lowest or highest 333mhz. There will be a another level of brightness on the screen but warning, this will DRAIN your battery. The future of Custom Firmware and Homebrew gaming is now going to the next level.

UPDATE: Flash0 has been accessed!! we have successfully flashed "TAF" and are testing it for errors =] Will be ready soon! Also posting pictures soon =D and to Dark_Alex you wait and see what we have cooked up ;)

So... tell me, how do you plan to tackle the following problems:
- Display drivers have changed on slim, so won't work on 1.50
- 3.x IPL can't load 1.50 files and 1.50 one won't work on SLIM.
- Kernel NIDs are mixed in 3.71, thanks to some "leet hacker"
- Various file formats changes? (I won't mention which, you should know if you're so good.)

Sounds very suspicious and bullshit-like, we'll see. :=)

Unauthorized 1.50? What the **** is that?
