Nanodesktop coding initiative

Post by pegasus2000 »

I'm evaluating if it is possible to improve Nanodesktop.

The next step would be:

a) to create an automatic installer
b) to write a low-level library that manages all 2D/3D features of
graphical accelerator. This library could be integrated in ndHAL, so
that all applications, included the graphical interface can obtain
advantages from this
c) port Python, SDL and Allegro under nd. The acceleration functions
provided by HAL for Graphics would be used by all libraries
d) port PocketSphynx under Nanodesktop. So, this library will be
able to recognize voice commands.

I'm looking for developers. Is anyone interested ?

Not unless you get rid of the Windows dependency. Sorry, but that's a killer for me.

I need to know this, before doing this job. If I'll port Nanodesktop
under Linux, you REALLY have interested to work with us ?

If your answer is yes, I'll do the port in a short time...

Yes. If you can get it working in linux, I'm willing to help out.

That was the problem before - I don't normally run Windows, and running it in WINE on linux had "quirks" that made me sour on it quickly.
