Problems updating Firmware - Please help!!!

Post by sainoz »

Morning,
I am trying to assist a friend who has a PSP and cannot play certian games with a message coming up saying the following:
'The system software of your PSP system is version 2.71. To start, you must update to version 3.11 or later. Do you want to update now? Yes/ No'

I have clicked yes whilest the USB is plugged into my PC with internet running and get the following error once selecting 'Yes':
'The game could not be started. (DADADADA)'

The PSP does have a chip in it too to play copied games.

I do not have a clue about PSP's as I am a PC fan so all help I can get the better. Is the firmware staved on the memeory card or on the PSP its self.

If someone could point me in the right direction or help that would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

It's not a matter of poor assistance on our side, but a matter of poor selection of the forum to post on your side.
As jean subtle meantioned - this is a DEVELOPMENT forum, not a PSP Help forum.

Anyway, for easy things like updating a firmware it's normally better to contact the creator homepage or just ask your friend google.
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=PS ... re+upgrade
The first hit directs you to the official sony homepage and includes instructions on how to upgrade your PSP firmware from the PC or via Network.

sainoz you should do some research first
dont expect people to answer your question nicely, because
1. the answer would be at least 50 lines to explain whole problem in details
2. its even off topic in this forum and there are many other forums&websites ou there where they help people solving such problems.
