PSP Type D

Post by TeamOverload »

Im sure most of you know that the PSPs standard usb mode is PSP Type A. However, it seems that on games that connect with the PS2, it is Type D. Unfortunately, I dont know of a driver for that type. It will be interesting to see what the difference is and if it can be exploited. Does anyone know of a driver for this mode, or can anyone with knowledge make one, or even just explore this? Post your thoughts...

Type D is the PSP comms thing which a few games have if I remember rightly. Not sure how to use it though in theory it _might_ be useable to exploit if you could a) work out the protocol and b) find a buffer overflow in the using application. Incidently the type is just specified by the product id you pass to sceUsbActivate, psplink for example is a PSP Type B device :)
