Problems with SDL installation

Post by Team-3GO »

Hope someone can help me to figure out why i cant install SDL.
Looks like i miss something essential!? :(

To me it looks like LIBTOOL is the problem but a search in the cygwin folder gave me a couple of files so i think its installed fine.

Dont know what to do now. :(

Thanks in advance

Just run the CYGWIN setup, and reinstall the automake package.

Run setup.exe, click View until you have the Partial option displaying, then scroll down the 'New' column looking for places where it has a new version number. You just want to leave the automake/conf ones in, so toggle all the other packages to Keep.

update autoconf / automake.

You'd be much better off using Ubuntu or Mac over any Windows cygwin environment.

pspsdk works fine under cygwin, on xp or vista. You don't need Linux.

well, look at the first error
/usr/bin/m4:configure.in:2516: cannot create temporary file for diversion: Permission denied
Seems like you have some sort of permission issue.
Make sure you can write to the current directory, to /tmp, etc.

It seems that your version of automake doesnt have some variables declared.

but try what jimparis said first.

how would i get permission? i am system admin so i should have all rights. should i? never had any problem like that before.
should i just remove the write protection of the cygwin folder?
will give it a try lets see what happens then.

like i said i installed cygwin from scratch on a new system and automake should be the last version if im not wrong.
will take a look at the cygwin setup maybe there was something left.

thanks for the help guys... much appreciated.
