honestly, they should consider marketing a UMD version. As the app does not facilitate piracy(if anything, allowing a hombrew channel would help stop it), I don't believe it would go against any of the agreements Sony has to allow a UMD to be made.

Equally, it would allow 2.0+ owners the ability to play Lua titles.

They would have to branch the org apart, however, so any NDAs related to seeing and using the SDK wouldn't cause any potential legal conflicts.

Maybe have a commercial branch and a nonprofit branch

Note: I have a 1.5, I can enjoy them now, so I ain't spouting this as a guy desperate for homebrew:P

note: I am not a lawyer. Nor am I too familiar with the problems/solutions in varying licenses. So I dunno if the license under which lua is situated would allow such a thing or would conflict with Sony's SDK license.
