What steps do I need to take when releasing a game? I've just read the license text that comes with Lua Player and I'm a little confused. I should have read it sooner, but I'm an idiot. Here are some changes I've just made. I now included the License text in the zip file along with the script and stuff, I modified the readme.txt to include "Made with Lua Player Copyright (c) 2005 Frank Buss All rights reserved." and I modified that lua splash image that I display before the game starts to this:
Am I even allowed to mess with this lua logo like that? I don't want to get in trouble or have someone mad at me.
So my questions are:
1. What exactly to I have to include to comply with the lua player license?
2. Is it ok to change the icon in the eboot any include that with my game? ( I get a lot of people that are confused installing and using lua player with Lowser).

1. some note that Nevyn and I'm the original author of Lua Player. The rest is up to you: you can use it for whatever you want and create your own licence file
2. yes, you can change it, if you like
I don't know, if you can change the Lua logo, but from http://www.lua.org/images/ it looks like they don't care very much about the exact pixels, but perhaps write an email to the Lua authors.

I sent an email with the logo above to the Lua authors and I received the following reply:Shine wrote:I don't know, if you can change the Lua logo, but from http://www.lua.org/images/ it looks like they don't care very much about the exact pixels, but perhaps write an email to the Lua authors.
As long as you keep the actual logo as in the original and just add a
background or your own orbiting text, as the example you sent us,
that's fine.
Thanks for your interest in Lua.
