create CDs for friends?

Post by qtmlr »

Hi,

please don't mix this up, i have NO interest in SW piracy.

If i write a game (self written code), can i give this to a friend who has a standard PS2 and he can use it in?

Is it even possible to sell self-written games?

Best regards,
Torsten.

You need a way to boot homebrew, be it mod, ps2-ind exploit, or whatever, you need a way to boot homebrew. You can't just make a cd work on "standard" PS2s like you are referring.

Hi,

this is really bad, i'd like to write some games and then share them with friends.

I don't understand why this is not possible, is it because a slef-burned CD/DVD can't be read? As i've read, DVDs can be played, so technically it should be possible, right?

Or does it need a special signature that can only be generated by Sony?

It is possible, and if you want to write some games go ahead and start writing, you can learn as you go why its not possible to boot a CD/DVD on a regular PS2.

You need a little assistance, for example ind exploit...or dare I say a modchip.

It's not possible because the PS2 is designed to run games unless they are licensed from sony. Thats it, thats all you need to know about it.

If you want to run homebrew look into ps2-ind or a modchip.
