Perhaps you should just play the game to death and unlock everything that way.

What you wish to do seems to me a bit like X-raying your xmas presents to see what's inside.

You perceive someone wants to do something possibly bad, but the jury appears to be still be out.

You seemed to not want to tell someone something about how to do it, but you do anyway.

You then express a feeling that a line was crossed that shouldn't have been, and expect some extreme action to result.

Oh, and then you apologize to apparently anyone for doing something you think you probably shouldn't have done but did anyway.

;)

p.s. The fact it hasn't been locked yet means it likely won't. Perhaps the feeling is that if this guy learns how to read and interpret MIPS ASM and all the gory details inside and how everything works, he might eventually learn a skill that he realizes can be put to a better use. I don't know, its hard to understand the line at which things are good or bad in these forums at times. :)

Well, don't forget ps2lib was mainly coded by reverse enginereeing games...

Actually I did not forget. :) Admittedly, I am doing much reverse engineering now myself. So much so that I decided I hate PS2DIS and will write a new disassembler for the PS2. In Java even so the damn thing can run natively on any platform (except a PS2 of course).

However, my point was not actually against reverse engineering, so much as:

1. My 'inner troll' was amused by Derek's approach.

2. Lately, there appears to be much confusion within the forums over what is "good" and what is "bad". Actually, its a healthy development as it can lead to additional discussion and hopefully agreement, because it is often a difficult judgement to make.
