Please clear out something for me

Post by gambiting »

Hi! I have just remembered something, and I would like someone to clear it for me. Back in the old days of 1.0fw(anyone remembers it? I do,my first psp was japan PSP1000 with 1.0) there was an unofficial 1.0 update, that would add calculator, email client, and a few things. It was availiable for few hours on sony site, but later they removed it,saying that their employes did it and it's not official. It is cached on psphacks.net site( http://files.psphacks.net/details.php?file=49 ).It was reported to brick psps, but could anyone with modern eboot decryption software see what it really it?

It only contained a pre-release of the v1 firmware and didn't write in an correct ipl hence the brick. It contains very little of interest.

Like if I recall loadcorei.prx which is a version of load core which loaded plain text executables only, which considering v1 had that anyway is dull. You can decrypt it all using psardumper, but trust me it is a waste of time :)

Well I wouldnt say entirely waste of time, there are some modules with more exports that were taken out of later fw. As well, most are still debug builds so asserts/kprintfs are still in place, so you can grab the real function name (to relabel for later fw where they've taken out the kprintfs).
