ps3dev.org splitting from ps2dev.org.
After some discussions with a few people its been decided that we're going to split the ps3 related discussions to a new web site (ps3dev.org). That means a chance to take a fresh approach to everything. If you've got an opinion of what you would like to see with the new site, this is the place to give it. Once the software is configured there won't be many chances to fix it.
To start with the basics. Forum software will continue to be phpBB unless anyone has another opinion? It will reside at forums.ps3dev.org
We will split the wiki and have some wiki software residing at wiki.ps3dev.org. Any suggestions on good wiki software?
We will have the subversion repository which will be available to view via svn.ps3dev.org
The main site ps3dev.org needs to be a CMS for news and links and other things. Any suggestions?

I got a little bit of time tonight to split off the domains and install drupal. I picked it because it has won some CMS awards and looks like it has some a lot of support. It also has lots of modules, some of which should cater for creating sub projects, etc.
Does anyone have any drupal experience? If you're up for the challenge of getting the site setup PM me. Its unlikely I will have much time to get much further than what I've done.
I've configured the domains forums.ps3dev.org but haven't put PHPBB there yet. I'm not sure of the best way to move users/messages from these forums to there. Anyone have any ideas?
So go over to http://ps3dev.org and have a look. :)

Sounds good to me. Someone who WANTS to be here will keep trying, while spammers will go look for easier targets.cheriff wrote:Man, that was a tough captcha - between myself and a coworker it took about 12 tries. "uhh, backwards question mark?"
I wonder if it doesn't incorporate one of those ink-blot tests in an attempt to gauge the sanity of prospective members ...

Does anyone have any experience with the following javascript editors? I'm leaning towards tinymce or the wymeditor.
http://drupal.org/project/widgeditor
http://drupal.org/project/fckeditor
http://drupal.org/project/htmlarea
http://drupal.org/project/tinymce
http://drupal.org/project/wymeditor
It should make it a little easier to edit content on the site.

I haven't done this yet, but I'll be adding the drupal/phpbb forum integration module. Found it at:

Another possible module to add. What are peoples experiences with openid?
http://drupal.org/project/openid
Should we add it? Will we need to run an openid server as well? Any thoughts?

If you haven't already noticed I've been looking at all the useful modules to use. Another one that is probably worth adding.
http://drupal.org/project/zen
Are there any CSS masters that would be interested in contributing a theme for drupal using zen?

I just logged in with my openid so it seems to work fine. :)Oobles wrote:I've added the openid module. Can someone with openid try it out?
Openid is a bit weird, you put it in your openid identity page address to login and then on the first logon you have to allow/deny the requesting site to let that id be used.
But I did that, created a new openid persona for ps3dev.org and after jumping through the drupal hoops (i think I failed a turing test with my captcha took me three tries) I can login with it fine.
