Then checkout ps2link from ps2dev.org -> Loaders page, once you have that booting you can start deving ( which I naively assume everyone wants )

I try do that:

Extract the PS2Link or pukklink files, and edit the IPCONFIG.DAT file if you know what info to put there. Burn the files using CDGenPS2, first drop the SYSTEM.CNF file into the panel, then the ELF, and then the rest of the files. Right-click on the SYSTEM.CNF file and edit the LBA to read 12231. Save image and burn with burnatonce or nero.

but i fail.. ...

in what way does it fail, black screen or do you get the red 'illegal disc' screen ?

if you want you could try to burn the iso included in the zip at http://www.thethirdcreation.net/tools/ps2link-v1.2.zip

you should get a screen with some info printed out, the last line will be "Ready."
