i've tried using programs from ScanDisk to a few bootable data recovery programs to attempt a surface scan of the Datel 4GB hard drive (unfortunately, i don't think the HD will connect until windows detects it...)(atleast i know no bootable data recovery programs have detected it so far)
i'm almost certain it has a few bad sectors that need to be weeded out but i can't find a suitable program to do so. when i write anything to this *now familiar* sector, and try and read it later, i get the click .. click .. click .. click that we all know and love.
does anyone know of a good program that'll atleast flag the sectors so they won't be used???
anyone? 8)
Bad Sectors on my Datel 4GB Drive *help*
its seems to me your best bet is to open up
that datel thing (voiding warranty by golly)
and just switching its cf flash card....or if your
warranty is still in affect ...contact datel for
assistance...or if they can replace even
...while your in talking terms with them
maybe you should ask them why they made
such a piece of utter crap product
